Are you interested in playing a band instrument?
Didn’t start in 6th grade? Don’t read music? Don’t have an instrument?
NO PROBLEM!

If you ever thought of playing in the band but didn’t join in 6th grade, NOW is your opportunity to learn a band instrument.

We are offering a class here at WKHS for beginning instrumentalists!

We will teach you how to play an instrument. All you need to do is
sign up for the class and commit to practicing your instrument.

JUST ADD “BAND” TO YOUR SCHEDULE. WE WILL CONTACT YOU.

Instruments that you may choose:

Flute – Clarinet – Oboe - Bassoon – Saxophone
Trumpet - French Horn – Trombone - Baritone – Tuba - Percussion*

We will give you an opportunity to try the instruments and make recommendations based on what instrument “fits” you best. Some school-owned instruments may be available.

As you advance your skill, you may earn membership in our other bands such as Marching Band, Pep Band, Symphonic Band, Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band.

This class will meet the requirement for a fine arts credit.


* Percussionists will learn to play mallet percussion instruments BEFORE they learn drums
